How to sign up

Signing up is a simple process just like any other online sign up process. Your site must comply with the Adsense site policies and you will need to provide the following information when you signup:

• Name
• Address
• Phone Number
• Website URL
• Display Language (for ads)
• Email*
• Password*
  
  

*If you have a Google account you can sign up under your usual email and password. We suggest you keep all your Adwords, Adsense and Google in a single account for ease of use.

When signing up its important that you enter valid information for all sections because Google will contact you with a PIN (sent in the post) and an automated phone call to check that your home address exists. These checks must be passed before you can receive any payments!

After you have signed up, Google will check that your site complies with their policies. This process usually takes about 2-3 days. After this period you will receive an email informing you that your account has been approved and you can start displaying ads



Tips and Tricks

Your site must NOT contain any of the following:

1. Violent content, racial intolerance or advocacy against any individual, group or organisation

2. Pornography, adult or mature content

3. Hacking/cracking content

4. Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia

5. Excessive profanity

6. Gambling or casino-related content

7. Content regarding programmes which compensate users for clicking on ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites or reading emails

8. Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages

9. Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank

10. Sales or promotion of weapons or ammunition (e.g. firearms, fighting knives, stun guns)

11. Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol

12. Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products

13. Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

14. Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods

15. Sales or distribution of term papers or student essays

16. Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others

Your site cannot contain copyright material:

"Website publishers may not display Google ads on web pages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content"
